چکیده
Abstract The fracture direction and its intensity are critical properties related to hydrocarbon characterization identification. Both these have an essential role in identifying the of migration, determining sweet spot area, optimizing drilling design. velocity variation with azimuth (VVAz) is a well-known method estimate intensity. This widespread interest because it predicts based on seismic data without any practical constraints. Despite this interest, technique requires rich 3D our case, which rare. study aims apply regularization interpolation by including wave front attributes Common Reflection Surface (CRS) before VVAz inversion. motivation using CRS enrich current improve S/N ratio. synthetic real evaluated examine scheme proposed method’s performance. Based evaluation after regularization, amplitude versus offset (AVO) phenomena, inversion results relatively consistent (or matched) model. A similar result found for case data. significant positive correlation between FMI about 0.9 obtained. Therefore, can be used as narrow

AMO inversion to a common azimuth dataset
I cast 3-D data regularization as a least-squares inversion problem. The model space is a four-dimensional (t , cmpx , cmpy ,hx ) hypercube. An interpolation operator maps to an irregular five dimensional space (t , cmpx , cmpy ,hx ,h y) which is then mapped back into a four dimensional space by applying Azimuth Move-Out (AMO). A regularization term minimizes the difference between various (t ,...
متن کاملNarrow-azimuth migration of marine streamer data
I introduce a new migration method that overcomes the limitations of common-azimuth migration while retaining its computational efficiency for imaging marine streamer data. The method is based on source-receiver downward-continuation of the prestack data with a narrow range of cross-line offsets. To minimize the width of the cross-line offset range, while assuring that all the recorded events a...
متن کاملData regularization: inversion with azimuth move-out
Data regularization is cast as a least-squares inversion problem. The model space is a five-dimensional (t,cmpx, cmpy, hx, hy) hypercube. The regularization minimizes the difference between various (t, cmpx, cmpy) cubes by applying a filter that acts in (hx,hy) plane. Azimuth Move-out is used transform the cubes to the same ( hx,hy) before applying the filter. The methodology is made efficient ...
متن کاملMulti-azimuth velocity estimation
It is well known that the inverse problem of estimating interval velocities from reflection data is poorly constrained in 2-D. We show that the interval velocity estimation problem in 3-D is much better constrained when the velocity function is estimated by jointly inverting the data collected along multiple offset-azimuth, even when the azimuth range is fairly limited. We extend to 3-D the lin...
متن کاملExtending common-azimuth migration
We present a review of common-azimuth prestack depth migration theory and propose a new extension to the original method. In common-azimuth migration theory, source and receiver raypaths are constrained to lie on the same plane at each depth level. By using data with a broader range of cross-line offsets, we increase the number of raypaths examined and consider more information. Consequently, o...
